Docker find ip address of container9/22/2023 There’s a couple of ways to do this, but the easiest way would be to connect over the IP address listed in your docker0 network adapter. If that’s the case you would just use as your DB connection host. I often see this use case come up when people are beginning to move their stack over into using Docker. This could come in handy if you wanted to connect to a database that’s running on your host but isn’t running inside of a container. Docker for Mac / Docker for WindowsĪs of Docker v18.03+ you can use the hostname to connect to your Docker host. In Docker Tip #35 I wrote about connecting to your Docker host from inside of a container but a lot of things have changed since then. Here's how to do it on Docker for Mac, Windows and Linux. Describe the network by running docker inspect networkid. Usually the stacks network is named like this stacknamenetwork. Check the node column to find the name of the node. With this command, Docker will set up the standard network model: It will create a veth interface pair. Updated on July 27th, 2018 in #docker Docker Tip #65: Get Your Docker Host's IP Address from in a Container Once in a while you may need your Docker host's IP address. Find the node where your service is running. Start your docker container, using the -p option to bind exposed ports to an ip address and port on the host: docker run -d -name web -p 10.12.0.117:80:80 larsks/simpleweb.
